Zen Bookmarks

I've been playing around with Zentangles.  It really is a very relaxing art form and all you needs is a pen and paper.  Here are a few I made tonight.

I also mixed the tangles with stamps, I really like the way this one turned out.

Spellbinders Storage

Spellbinder Storage

A friend of mine, Tina at Live Love & Stamp created a wonderful storage system for her small border dies.  I needed a system to store my Spellbinders.  I have been using the CD case system but some dies didn't fit and it was bulky.  So I took her idea and adapted it for my larger dies.

I started with a binder by Maya Road, colored the pages with various mist and dies using lots of Glimmer Mist for bling.  The magnets are freebies used as advertising and a few from Wal-mart  they just need to be thin.

I covered the binder with medal plumbers tape with chipboard shaped and letters under the tape.  Then colored with alcohol inks.

The Joy of Snow

I've had so much time and so much fun this week.  This is one of my projects inspired by the snow and a blog post I saw earlier this year.  I did some experimenting with metals.  For one tag I used aluminum from a soda can and colored with alcohol inks. One the other I used the metal plumbers tape on card stock and sharpie markers.  Both snow men were die cut from tape on card stock.  I think I like the plumbers tape and sharpies better.  And the sharpies are so much easier to use than alcohol inks.  Can you tell which is the tape?
I also make this lovely flower using Studio 490 stamps, Tim's tissue tape and sprockets & gears.

Bright Banner

This week I have been working on a banner for my office at school I have been challenging myself to use more color this summer and I am really happy with the results..  The R6 section in the middle refers to Rosemont 6th grade.  I used a little of everything in this banner, colorbox ink, versa mark inks, and destress inks.  Wendy Vecchi and Tim Holtz stamps, grunge paper and grunge board, memo pins, the basic form is by Maya Road.
I hope this inspires your next project.

Inspired by Wendy Vecchi

Wendy Vecchie Inspired Book on PhotoPeach

This was such a fun book to make.  It was taken from the feature in the April/May Stampers' Sampler.  What I loved about creating these pages is all the attention she gives to detail.  I got to use paint, stamps, grunge paper, Tim Holtz film strip and hardware parts.  I also got to use lots of fun bling like stickles and rhinestones.

Peace Love & Art

We had a 60's day at school cordinated through our Reading classes to accompany the book "The Watson's Go to Burmingham".  It was a great day and the kids had a lot of fun.  So I make a Thank You tag for our Reading teachers.  The Hippy Girl is by Stamping Bella colored with water color pencils and framed with a Spell binder die cut.  The green paper was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  And by favorite thing I did for these tags ist he flower.  I used a Sizzie die cut and cut the flowers out of used Dr. Pepper cans.  The die cut the alunimun just like paper.  I colored it with alcholol inks and put a brad in the center.  These were fun and easy tags.

New Inspiration

Last weekend was the second stamp convention of the year, and the last one until next July. But I think I have enough supplies and ideas to keep me busy.  One of my favorite vendors at this convention was Artful Illusion, I love the destressed and aged look of their items.  So today I created a Field Guide for the Fairy King.  The story behind the Field Guide is that is as long lost guide just recovered.

I used a little of everything in making this book.  Destress inks, Archival Inks, watercolor pencils, varioius size tags, and stamps from too many Co. to mention.  I hope you enjoy the fantasy.  All pages are in the slide show below.

Inspired

Everytime I see Kate of Inovke Arts create with her wonderful line of stamps I get inspired.  Her designs are always quirky and unique.  I love the use of layers and the great colors.  It also helps that she used Destress inks - my favorite line.  I hope you enjoy these new creations.  Most images are by Invoke Arts, and the inks are Ranger's Destress Ink.  I also used a little Destress Stickles on the wings, and hearts. It doesn't really show in the pictures but I finished the tags with some metalic rub ons around the edges and to highlight the faces.

Great Day at the Convention

I had a great time at the Stamp convention today. I got some great new stamps from some of my favorite companies. But I really had a great time catching up with some old friends. It made me realize how much I have missed them. With all these new toys I must get busy stamping now.

Pictures Loaded

I loaded serval slide shows of some of my past work. In the Books show "Evidence" is my favorite style it uses a varies of materials and stamps from different sources. "Life Isn't a Straight Line" is very different from my usual style but it was a lot of fun to do, all stamps are by Paper Artsy.

I hope you enjoy.
